United Hebrew School of
Tidewater
Beginning
with Sunday morning 2nd grade classes in pre-reading skills,
Hebrew instruction continues with Wednesday afternoon and
Sunday morning sessions for students in 3rd through 6th graders.
Wednesday’s classes meet 4:15 - 6:15 in the classrooms of
Hebrew Academy. The area's Conservative synagogues created
This United Hebrew School to provide language instruction
in a way that brings the children all together. Students
learn to read Hebrew, to understand key words, concepts,
rituals and meanings, and to chant prayers. As followup to
the Wednesday classes, a UHS teacher reviews with the students
for an hour of Hebrew on Sundays in each shul for each grade.
