Focuses on modern Hebrew. Stresses reading comprehension for the intermediate learner. Students will need to be familiar with the Alephbet before diving into this website. Site for a powerful downloadable tool for learning Hebrew words in flashcard format. They also have an online section to start most people off at. The program is focused on reading comprehension for the intermediate learner. Students will need to be familiar with the Alephbet before using this program. Versions for download: Windows 95 to XP, UNIX, MacOS (includes X), PalmOS, PocketPC and Playstation. Also look at: Slowed Down Audio Archive. You need Quicktime Player loaded to listen to the audio archives.


 

Hebreu (Morim.com)
A great set of PDF and HTML files listing modern Hebrew vocabulary. Very much a challenge for the English-speaking learner - as almost everything is in French. With a little bit of tinkering you can use it. Is updated monthly and covers a wide spectrum of topics. Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to use most tools.

 


Starting with Aleph (JeMM)
A great place to learn the Alpehbet by seeing the letters and hearing their sounds interactively. Introduces the learner to simple Biblical words and gives Midrashic stories to explain items in the four lessions provided. Requires that Macromedia Flash Player be installed on your computer.

Akhlah: Jewish Children's Learning Network (Akhlah, Inc.)
This site is geared towards teaching children Biblical Hebrew, but does contain a large number of vocabulary words for those who are just beginning after learning their Alephbet. Just about every page has a link to more vocabular words - check it out!
